  If you believe God exists, what are your thoughts on what pleases him most?

  our family has come to believe that god really wants each individual to personally and independently seek, find and walk with him - quite apart from what other humans say, think, believe or do.. we believe we were created as semi-autonomous beings.

  when our inner compass is recalibrated, and we then self-direct, the outcomes seem best.. when we are instead led by humans, their hierarchies, organisations and ideas, the outcomes on the whole seem unfavourable.

  legalism (rules), moralism (a moral code), ethnocentrism (doctrine), and gnosticism (knowledge) may seem meritorious.. yet these do not seem to lead to the deep inner transformation needed.

  i posted this elsewhere, but wanted to create a thread about this specifically.

  here is one way that i think the wt is absolutely wrong in it's advice on raising children:.

  in the 1/13 awake they talk about mistakes that parents make with their children.

  You get the real deal when you are going to meetings. Then you will hear it with all there supporting the false views. This indoctrination process is very effective. Group think can be very powerful. Yes the kool aid version kills a persons thinking ability. This is why it is sooooo important that you give comments at the meetings, so the person joins the "crowd". Adding this to the persons bible teach book indoctrination, basically takes away the persons true personality and they become part of the borg.

  we can never get a jw to talk about these things. Here you are talking to three of their best, and they are unable to use reason. Seriously a child could figure it out. Makes me feel sad that I used to be this ignorant. Makes me even more sad that I love my jw brothers and sisters so much and they are trapped in their own minds.

  I was really impressed when you told them that thousands of brothers and sisters have died due to wt policy and they said, admitting you were right, well Jehovah can ressurect them. Jehovah can fix it. Like Almighty God would fix his own mistakes. He is perfect but he will fix his own mistakes. Makes me shake my head! This organization makes a farce of truth and a mockery of God!
